This course is part of the standard curriculum in the Diploma program in mathematics.

Using the methods of analysis we will explore the fabulous world of differentiable functions in the complex plane and derive intriguing properties about them. The theory can be applied to compute complex line integrals, enabling us to compute also many real integrals. I will (mainly but not completely) follow the book of Jänich, Funktionentheorie. The language of this course is either english or german, depending on the preferences and needs of the participants.

To follow the course, knowledge of 'Analysis 1,2' and 'Lineare Algebra 1' is recommended. In the beginning of the lecture we will however also repeat some relevant concepts with special focus on the properties of the complex plane.
