- Basic causality theory, Lorentzian geometry and Penrose diagrams;
- The initial value problem in general relativity;
- Asymptotic flatness and conserved quantities;
- The Incompleteness theorems of Penrose and Hawking;
- The Cosmic Censorship conjectures;
- The laws of black hole mechanics;
- Dynamical properties of black holes;
