This class is dealing with the analysis of hypersectral remote sensing data using advanced modeling techniques. We will discuss six approaches (Random Forest classification & regression, Support Vector Machine classification, Partial Least Squares regression, Spectral Mixture Analysis as well as Radiative Transfer Modeling). Each method will be introduced in theory and explored in hands-on trainings. Subsequently, we will discuss possible applications in the field of physical geography. The training is based on the R programming language; all script code is provided.
