This course (re)introduces students to essential concepts and techniques in experimental psychology and statistics. The focus is on experimental methods and statistical analyses that are commonly employed in developmental psychology. The main goal is for students to be able to read and understand empirical research articles. This includes constructively criticizing the methods and evaluating the validity of the statistical strategies employed. In addition, students are introduced to the statistics program ‘R’, in which they will get a basic overview of the functions R offers and learn how to handle data within the program.
