What is Latin America and what are the social, historical, economic, and political contexts that have constructed over time localities, countries, sub-regions, and the region itself? What are the historical roots and developmental effects of socio-political processes in the region such as migration? These are some of the questions that the Colloquium for Latin American Studies at Leipzig University, or CEL-LE (its Spanish acronym) aims to answer. The study group welcomes students and researchers of different disciplines like history, sociology, anthropology, political science, cultural studies and global studies.
