English description:
Students acquire knowledge about basic methods, current trends and the history of digital humanities. While the video lectures describe the methods, history, and application examples of Digital Humanities and the exercises and short videos teach students the first steps in working with XML, JSON, and R (and a bit of Python and Golang), students are also expected to develop their own Digital Humanities micro-projects and will produce a project report. The language of instruction is English.
Structure of the module:
The module is completely online and as far as possible asynchronous: i.e. every Monday new content is put online on Moodle, the course website, and the course Gitlab repository; exercises can be worked on by the students and every Wednesday 13:15-14:45 there is a fixed meeting time on Big Blue Button where (if necessary) questions can be asked; in addition, the course uses a chat system where students can exchange information asynchronously with each other and with the instructor ("Thomas" suffices).
The exam consists of a project report that refers to a group project (to be submitted on 31.03.2021).

Die Studierenden erwerben Kenntnisse über grundlegende Methoden, aktuelle Trends und Geschichte der Digital Humanities. Während die Videovorlesungen die Methoden, Geschichte, und Anwendungsbeispiele der Digital Humanities beschreibt und den Studenten in den Übungen erste Schritte im Umgang mit XML, JSON und R (und ein bisschen Python und Go) vermittelt werden, sollen die Studierenden auch ein eigenes Digital Humanites-Mikroprojekt ausarbeiten und als Projektarbeit verfolgen. Unterrichtssprache ist Englisch.Aufbau des Moduls:
Das Modul ist vollkommen online und weitestgehend asynchron: d.h. jeden Montag werden neue Inhalte auf Moodle, außerdem der Kurswebseite, und dem Kurs Gitlab-Repository online gestellt; Übungsaufgaben können von den Studierenden bearbeitet werden und jeden Mittwoch 13:15-14:45 gibt es einen festen Besprechungstermin, wo (bei Bedarf) Fragen gestellt werden können; zusätzlich benutzt der Kurs ein Chatsystem, wo Teilnehmer sich asynchron untereinander und mit dem Kursleiter ("Thomas" reicht als Anrede) austauschen können.
Die Prüfungsleistung ist ein Projektbericht, der sich auf ein Gruppenprojekt bezieht (Abgabe am 31.03.2021).
