Students will learn about (i) the features of different text types, and the differences between German and English texts from various fields; (ii) effective use of online translation aids, including dictionaries, corpora and parallel texts; (iii) the translation of reported speech, and conditional structures; (iv) necessary structural shifts owing to differences in the grammar or culture of the target language.
