Problems with representation and responsiveness are often regarded as key movers in the debate about causes of the rise of public discontent. This seminar shall approach these claims both from a theoretical perspective — regarding theories of representation and democracy — and from a pragmatic perspective, via case studies of anti-establishmentarian political movements.
