In this seminar, part of the module „Planning and Researching“, students will be guided to design a project (for instance research or an internship), and to formulate a funding application that confirms to the expectations of the genre.

The course addresses different research traditions, methodologies, relations between theory and method and the application of knowledge in developing research project plans. You will acquire skills to design your research proposal.
This includes identifying and developing (1) a sound research question by narrowing down the topic of interest and precisely revealing the boundaries of the study and nesting it in academic literature, and (2) appropriate data collection methods and analysis techniques. Emphasis is on qualitative research methods.
Research ethics and positionality of research and researchers will be also reflected.
Organised as an interactive seminar, the course partly requires students to present samples of their ongoing research projects.
