This course accompanies the lecture ‘Introduction to Synchronic Linguistics’, which provides an introduction and overview of the main levels of linguistic analysis. In contrast to the ‘overview approach’ of the lecture, the ‘Übung’ will focus on selected topics in phonetics/phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics. This means that the course will extend the content of the lecture by covering certain aspects regarding these levels of linguistic analysis in more detail. In addition, the course offers the opportunity to practice the application of newly-acquired concepts in linguistics by working with linguistic examples.
