Online applications, ranging from search engines to social media and AI applications like ChatGPT & Co., have a strong impact on our daily media consumption habits. Current research emphasizes the growing platformization of media cultural processes and practices, alongside a transition towards a platform society. In our seminar, we will critically discuss the ongoing transformations of infrastructures and the specific communication conditions inherent in a platform-driven everyday online usage.
